Picture this. I haven’t seen nor heard from my brother in 30 years. In fact I had no idea where the heck he was OR if he was even still alive. So as far as I know I’m the only one left in my family.

Stay with me now. It’s the weekend after Thanksgiving

2006. It’s cold and gloomy outside. I’mlonely because the holidays are supposed to befamily times.

I don’t even remember when “The Secret” was released. I’d had it for several months but hadn’t watched it yet.

With nothing else to do that weekend, I shoved the DVD in the player and began to watch it. Almost immediately I was mesmerized. All of my years of training came back to me.

“I can make things happen!”

I shouted to my dogs after the 3rd time I watched it.

The characters in “The Secret” jumped out at me over and over again that weekend to the point where I could have sworn they were right there in my living room!

At the same time I had been reading Joe Vitale’s book “The Attractor Factor”. There is a page there where you write down what you want. So, I

wrote “Tuck will contact me” (knowing what I know now I realize I should have been more specific but I’ll tell you about that in a minute).

Monday rolled around and it was back to work as usual. Nothing major happens.

Tuesday 5 December 2006 comes and it’s one day closer to the weekend – yea!

About midmorning I’m having a cup of coffee and realize I have a voicemail on my phone. So I check it. I just about faint. The voice says “hey, it’s your bro” – my heart stopped beating…and then the message continued on. It was from my very good friend who took me on as his adopted sister when I had no one.

I was devastated. You see, I had put my statement away and forgotten it. I could NOT remember if I had put my brother’s name or just said “my brother will contact me.”

That was my first lesson on specificity. So, I went and called Anne and told her how disappointed I was but that I had learned this valuable lesson (even though I really didn’t care about that at that moment) about having to be extremely specific about what you want.

We talked and laughed and I began to feel better. I mean, after all, I hadn’t had any contact in 30 years so what difference did it really make.

The day drags on. It’s about 6:30 p.m., dark, cold and depressing. I pull into my garage, calm the cacophany of my Siberian Huskies saying hi to mom, and head on over to my computer to check my email.

For the second time that day my heart stopped . This was staring me right in the face on my computer screen:

I don’t know how long I stared at the screen before opening it. Finally I double clicked. These 17 words changed my life.

“The Secret” had worked!

Or Had it?

“The Secret” put the icing on the cake and allowed all my buried knowledge to burst forth like a volcanic eruption!

You see, it was more than just “The Secret” or more than just the “Law of Attraction” – there had been many times in my life I had “wished for”, “hoped for”, “wanted” my brother back in my life. But it had never occurred before.

What was magic about that 48-72 hour period between my watching “The Secret” non-stop and my brother sending me the email?

It wasn’t just the Law of Attraction.

It was more.

• It was the emotion, the feeling I put into my declaration.

• It was the specific statement “Tuck will contact me!”

• It was me being ready to receive him into my life again.

I doubt I would have been able to bring my brother back into my life with just the Law of Attraction although it is a key element in the process.

I Screamed these words with anger and determination after there had been a mess up with my orders and I wasn’t able to move into the house I’d planned and had to find a house in 2 days. I’m trotting along in D.C. and knowing I’ll have to retire from the Navy soon. I’m talking with my friends about a charity I want to create. And every single time they’d ask where it was going to be I’d answer Texas. I have absolutely no idea why.

My friend and I are at a medical conference in Atlantic City (nice, huh?). My boss sends me a job description from USAJOBs and says he’s not trying to get rid of me but he knows I’ll be leaving soon and I might be interested in this listing.

My eyes widened – “wow” I mumbled. It was for a job as a civilian working for the Army doing the exact same thing I was doing for the Navy (how cool is that?). And it’s right there in Washington, DC so I wouldn’t have to move (although I’d still have to commute 120 miles a day in DC traffic – hmmm).

Curious George that I am – I scrolled down the page – low and behold the exact same job is being offered in guess where…..

Yep, you guessed it – San Antonio, Texas!

For all those years I had been away from San Antonio, my subconscious was working to get me back there.

However, the timing for the Universe had to be just right. The reason I got that job was because I had been down to talk to them a year prior in my Navy capacity and met everyone and got lucky they all liked me! So, it was a no brainer for both of us for me to get the job.

Are these things just coincidences? I don’t think so, and if you read “Beyond The Secret” AND take action on it, you’ll be as powerful as I am. That is not conceipt, it’s just fact.

“I want outside Access!”

Not being from Texas I had never heard of “outside access” – which seems to me to be what we yankees call a “backdoor” but it’s in your bedroom?

Anyway, as I was looking for houses here in San Antonio, I kept seeing that as a feature. So I decided I wanted an “outside accesss”. I was so emphatic about it that I ended up with a house that has FIVE outside access doors.

I knew what I wanted in a house – very specifically

I was having lots of difficulty finding a house in the short 5 day period of time I had when I moved here to San Antonio. I had told the realtor I wanted about 1/2 acre (I’m not even sure what that means though) and a fenced yard. I didn’t tell her much more.

We looked and looked and looked. She kept showing me these places that were pretty far away from the Army base (I had just commuted the 120 miles a day for 14 years). I was so depressed that I thought I had made the wrong decision to retire to San Antonio and take that job.

My friend took me around the city the second to last night I was there. And we found some places to look at.

I told the realtor the addresses the next day and she showed them to me. As we walked into the second to last house I knew this was mine.

But we went to the last one anyway and then turned right around back here.

So what’s so unusual about that? Me. I’m single, have two dogs, am not into house upkeep or gardening or anything. I love computers and I’m a slob but I also liked to exercise.

I walked up the foyer in this house and immediately to my left is this big room that’s open – and it’s got a long table with a computer right out in front of the world – this is not what people are normally interested in.

I walked through the back rooms and came upon one that was set up with a treadmill and a TV mounted on the wall.

And as you saw above it had FIVE outside access doors.

“This house was made for me!”

In my mind I knew what I wanted (the computer room easily accessible and the exercise room). I had not formulated that into words though so there’s no way that the realtor could have known that. The Universe knew it though. Yet, if I had used the principles taught in “Beyond The Secret” I would not have had to go through all that anquish.
